Hokkaido lnformation University is a member of the eDC (Electronics Development Computer College) group. A cornerstone of the group's philosophy is the symbiotic nature of industry, higher education and research, leading to the existence of various other members within the group, including: Software Consultant Corporation (SCC), a comprehensive systems organization which supports and promotes the systemization of various corporations; Space Engineering Development Co., Ltd.(SED), a leader in Japanese aerospace development; and the Hokkaido lnstitute of lnformation 'Technology (HiiT), a research institute that explores the zenith of communications satellite network development and multimedia systems development. Hokkaido lnformation University is able to provide the latest innovative information technology education to its students because the knowledge and technology achieved by these corporations and research institutes are directly utilized by and reflected in its education.
