Faculty of Medical Informatics

Department of
Medical
Management
and Informatics

The highest priority issues for Japan, which is experiencing an aging population and a declining birthrate, are as follows: 1) the prevention of the breakdown of medical care and the provision of high-quality advanced medical services; 2) the development of new medical information systems and medical technologies; and 3) the clarification of relationships between the environment, health and safety. To solve these problems, we provide sophisticated educational training programs for students, thereby helping them to acquire a technically advanced knowledge of the medical information field, learn practical information processing techniques in the medical information field and develop proactivity, judgment, learning ability and thinking capacity. This department allows students to acquire an extensive knowledge of the medical information field and systems at the Medical Information Center (virtual hospital), the Health Information Science Research Center and the Bioinformatics Analysis Rooms as well as through other on-site training. These educational programs produce advanced medical IT professionals who lead the progress of IT in the medical information field and related fields of application.
